What are the COmmon college dance recruiting guidelines & Video?

Out of feedback gathered in 2024, NDCA has developed a recommended structure for college dance team recruiting videos and a general recruitment timeline.

The NDCA Common College Dance Recruiting Guidelines and Video structure includes fundamental skills and dance combinations that have historically been required by most programs. The NDCA is sharing this recommended approach with college coaches across the country, and college coaches choose if they will accept the CCDRG & Video each recruitment cycle.

While the approach is inspired by the Common App for college applications, the NDCA is not facilitating the collection or distribution of recruitment materials.  

College programs that agree to accept the CCDRG & Video will still facilitate their recruitment processes independently, and submission of all materials will go directly to colleges/coaches according to their program's recruiting instructions.

NDCA publishes updates to the Common Video Guidelines for the upcoming recruiting cycle

June 1 
Colleges & Universities who are accepting the Common Video publish recruitment guidelines to their website/social media, and are included on the published list on NDCA's website 

FALL SUBMISSION

📌 Note: Each school will select which deadline best suits their recruiting model, NDCA recommends that all schools accepting the video choose from one of the two common deadlines.

Follow the below steps to guide your recruitment process: 

1. Check if the team you are interested in auditioning for is accepting the Common College Dance Recruiting Guidelines and Video. The list of participating colleges is located below.
2. Confirm directly with the coach/team exactly what their audition process is, as well their deadlines and submission instructions for your materials. Individual teams may have supplemental requirements.
3. Create your video with the content and parameters of the guidelines. You can find those guidelines below.
4. Submit your videos directly to the coach/team.
