Conference

  • The only national Dance Team Coaches conference focused solely on coaching dance team

Credentials

  • Coaching Credential - Self-paced, online course that provides dance team professionals with dance-specific information, best practices, and strategies for coaching.
  • Dance Safety and Risk Management - Self-paced, online course designed with the goal of reducing risk and injury, as well as creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for dance athletes.
  • Judging Credentials - 3 levels combining self-paced, online coursework with culminating virtual discussions designed to train, connect, and support the role of the dance team adjudicator.

Advocacy 

  • Common College Recruiting Guidelines - NEW! Created to standardize the video recruiting guidelines for high school dancers auditioning to dance on college dance team. These guidelines were created and agreed upon by NDCA College Coach Members.
  • Future of Dance Committee - In what direction is our artistic sport moving? 
  • Dance Rules - A working document created by a committee of people designed to standardize dance competition rules.
  • Dance Safety Advisory Council - A committee of dance injury experts working together to make dance team safer.
  • Surveys - We conduct surveys related to dance team and share the results with our membership so that they have data to use when advocating for their programs.


Networking and Community Building

  • Many opportunities to meet fellow coaches and share ideas, learn new things, and connect high school and college coaches for dance team recruitment.


Voting:

Primary members are eligible to vote on all NDCA business and awards.

Associate members are eligible to votes on awards only. 

Next Generation members are non-voting members.

Next Generation Membership

The purpose of the Next Generation membership with NDCA is to give post-secondary and college-age dancers who are interested in coaching foundational professional development early in their coaching career. This membership is a way to get involved in a national organization that is built to support and educate dance team coaches, gain knowledge and skills to build your coaching resume early, and get exposure to a large network of established coaches early on.


Included exclusively for Next Generation members in their membership cost:

  • NDCA Coaching Credential (year 1)
  • NDCA Dance Safety & Risk Management (year 2)
  • Next Generation Mentorship: Building a Coaching Foundation


Next Generation members also get access to NDCA member events and resources. Open to ages 18-24.
