The NDCA is committed to helping create a more
diverse and inclusive dance team community.

We believe that we are stronger when we take deliberate/specific steps to include, value and trust each other with the goal of creating a positive dance team experience for all dancers, regardless of race, orientation or background.

We are committed to helping create a more diverse and inclusive dance team community by developing a multi-faceted
 Inclusion and Engagement Project.

Future Advocacy

The Inclusion and Engagement Program is working towards future advocacy within the dance industry. We plan to become more involved in supporting underrepresented dance styles and genres by networking with dance coaches from other genres such as HBCU, step teams, majorettes, etc. We strive to consistently incorporate all types of dance teams in our "one dance, one voice" message within the greater sports and athletic community.

Scholarships

NDCA is working to create a separate National Dance Coaches Foundation (NDCF) that will be responsible for developing scholarships.

Individual Scholarships

  • Individual scholarships will be given to dancers from underrepresented populations in need of financial support, and used for dance training and/or dance team participation. Selected by the NDCF, recipients will be chosen based on a number of criteria, and from a pool of applicants submitted by coaches, choreographers, consultants, family, or the individual dancer.

Team Scholarships

  • With donations from for-profit businesses, and funds raised at various charitable events, the NDCF will award dance teams in need with dance camp scholarships, competition fees, uniforms/costumes, or other items that will benefit the entire team. Priority will be given to teams with underrepresented members.
